Settlement of Fillings.
When you first receive your mattress all the fillings inside will be at the same level. After using the mattress slight hollows will appear in the sleeping areas. This is quite normal and is caused by the fillings compacting under body weight, not by faulty springs or fillings. The fillings will compress to a reasonably even level over the entire surface but will show the compression more where it is subjected to body weight where a person sleeps. Turning and/or rotating your mattress will help to even out the settlement.
Turning Sprung Mattresses
Turning Latex and Memory Foam Mattresses
Most of these mattresses only have one sleeping surface so cannot be turned over. The mattress should however be rotated through 180 degrees every month. With ongoing use, the cells within foams will open fully and the sleeping surface will react more quickly. The mattress may feel as if it is getting softer, but the important pressure relieving properties remain the same.
Handling
Many mattresses are heavy and you may need help when turning or moving your mattress. The handles on a mattress are ideal for helping to turn a mattress but are not designed for the mattress to be carried far. Do not roll or or fold the mattress as this can damage internal components. Sitting on the edge of a bed puts undue strain on the springs at the edges and can damage a mattresses border. Do not allow anyone to jump on the mattress as this will cause damage.

Protecting and Cleaning the Mattress
After delivery the mattress should be aired for a minimum of 4 hours to freshen and remove any aroma that may have been caused by storage. The mattress should be aired on a weekly basis by turning the linen back for a few hours. We recommend that you use a mattress protector or an under blanket below the sheet. Try to avoid using a using a plastic sheet on or under the mattress as this can stop air circulation and cause condensation. Clean the bed every few months with a soft brush. Do not vacuum as this can damage the fillings. Any spills should be absorbed with a dry cloth and sponged lightly with a damp cloth and mild detergent solution.
